On the site of the ruins of a chapel, discover the Abbey of Saint-Vincent, built on the initiative of Queen Anne of Kiev, wife of King Henry I. The oldest part of Saint-Vincent's church, as it stands today, is the small chapel attached to the north transept, whose exceptionally thick wall is a possible vestige of the church completed in 1069. You will be amazed at the church's unconventional position in relation to the cloister, which is not to the south of the religious building. Sold as national property in 1790, the building was successively used as a military hospital, barracks, a spinning mill and, from 1836, an educational centre, thus returning to its original purpose: teaching. Today, a private secondary school occupies the premises.
You can visit certain parts of the abbey when it is open during the European Heritage Days.
