Parc de la Faïencerie

Parc de la Faïencerie is a municipal park in the centre of the town, just a stone's throw from Ile Saint-Maurice. It owes its name to the former earthenware factory that made the town famous in the 19th century. Walkways have been laid out in this small wood, bordered on one side by the banks of the River Oise and on the other by a limestone hillside into which troglodytes have been dug. The "Côte à Cri-cri", beautifully redeveloped in 2015, is a pedestrian and cycle path leading from the park to the heights of Creil. The park features a number of picnic tables and a large area for running or playing ball. Nearby, the Espace culturel de la Faïencerie includes a theatre (theatre, concert, circus, etc.), a media library, a hall hosting trade fairs (Manga convention, book fair, comic convention, etc.) and the "Le Flora" brasserie. St Maurice is also home to the Musée Gallé-Juillet and the Maison de la Faïence.
