Guided tour: "The painting galleries of the Musée Condé" at the Château de Chantilly

The Musée Condé invites you to discover or rediscover its exceptional masterpieces through a guided tour of its painting collections.

Housed in the majestic setting of the Château de Chantilly, the Musée Condé is home to a priceless collection of art, passionately assembled by Henri d'Orléans, Duc d'Aumale (1822-1897), a great patron of the arts, an enlightened art lover and the last owner of the estate. During this guided tour, marvel at the richness and diversity of this unique collection, considered to be the second most important collection of early paintings after that of the Louvre.

Highlights include Piero di Cosimo's famous Portrait of Simonetta Vespucci, a true icon of the Italian Renaissance, and the timeless grace of Raphael's Three Graces. Lovers of classical art will also appreciate the works of Nicolas Poussin, master of landscape and composition, while the delicate paintings by Watteau offer a poetic journey through the art of 18th-century France.

As you move through the rooms, let yourself be guided through a wealth of styles, subjects and techniques: landscapes bathed in light, scenes from daily life, historical compositions and portraits of great intensity. Each work bears witness to the artists' view of their time, and invites you to take a closer look at the history of art.
