"Long persecuted as a nuisance animal to the point where it almost disappeared from the face of the earth, the beaver is now a protected species. And even though it is now considered a valuable aid in the fight against the effects of climate change, it is gradually being reintroduced in many European countries, particularly in the Alpine valleys.
But why so much hatred and now so much concern?"
