The 04 oct. 2025
Dôme des Grandes Ecuries 60500 CHANTILLY
An evening in tribute to Aretha Franklin to support the fight against breast cancer
Comprising four female singers and a rhythm section (bass, piano, guitar, percussion and saxophone), Aretha 's Sisters Unplugged pay tribute to 'The Queen of Soul'. Why unplugged? Because the acoustics of the dome of the Grandes Écuries are perfect for magnifying the voices and instruments. Varying the pleasures, and certainly not trying to get close to the diva's unique voice or to reproduce the songs slavishly, the singers are in turn soloists or backing singers, and even pianist for one of them.
Aretha's illustrious career, punctuated by iconic hits, made her the most awarded rhythm and blues artist of her generation, winning 18 Grammy Awards. She was the first woman ever inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
"In Aretha's voice, we could read our history, in its entirety and in all its nuances: our power and our pain, our dark side and our light, our quest for redemption and our hard-won respect", is how Barack Obama honoured her memory when she returned to the stars in August 2018.
